Practice nurses can be seen by appointment.
The nurses offer advice and consultations as appropriate to patients wanting to seek immediate medical attention. They also regularly see and treat patients with minor illnesses.
Conditions such as Asthma, Diabetes and Coronary Heart disease may be monitored by the nurses. They can review medication and discuss any problems or concerns.
Nurses are also available for:
- General Health Advice
- Immunisation and travel advice
- Cervical Smears
- Ear syringing
- Family planning/contraceptive pill checks
- Hormone replacement checks
- Minor injuries
- Smoking cessation advice
The District Nurses assist our patients who need treatment at home. You may speak to them on 01223 726469 option 2.
The Phlebotomist, Morag Overhill is available during the morning for blood taking and Blood Pressure readings.
Health Care Assistants
Healthcare Assistants are available on most days for blood tests, blood pressure checks, ECGs, dressing changes and NHS Health Checks.
NHS Health Checks are available to patients between 40 and 74 years of age who are not already suffering from chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease or previous stroke.

The Midwives, Lilly Team, are closely involved with all aspects of the care of expectant mothers, and in the period immediately post delivery. Newly pregnant women are invited to book an appointment to see the Midwife as soon as the pregnancy is confirmed.
